... Jerusalem ... 22 Just as the new earth and the new heavens will endure by my power, so your descendants and your name will endure ... Isaiah 66 (GNT), 18 ... Jerusalem will be rebuilt, and its PALACE restored. Jeremiah 30:18 (GNT)

King David's Palace, Jerusalem's Palace?! - Jewish identity!

Israel's Jewish identity and future

David's palace being rebuilt, instead of leaving it in ruin, would surely assert Israel's Jewish identity and that of Jerusalem as its capital city.

1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.
3 The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, ... Psalm 125 (NIV)

... 2 The Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen J e r u s a l e m, rebuke you! ... Zechariah 3:1-10 (NIV)

Jerusalem also called the city of the Great King - Psalm 48:3, Matthew 5:35 - and the land of Jerusalem, has been allotted by God to the by him determined righteous Israelites, through Abraham and his descendants. The Israelites as God's eldest son - Exodus 4:22-23 - do have a double portion of what God has in store for humanity.

What is the importance of David's palace and the Temple to Jerusalem - the city God choose for himself to be worshiped by believers - specifically? Together they form the hart of Jerusalem the capital city of Israel. In other words, together they define the Jewishness of Jerusalem, of the State and Kingdom of Israel! The royal and religious seat of the Kingdom of Israel. And in the past also the political center of the nation of Israel.

God Almighty is in the process of establishing his Kingdom within Israel, which will be a political and religious center to stay - Daniel 2 - and which will be of importance to all nations. On mount Zion God will,
... remove the veil of grief covering all people and the mask covering all nations. He will swallow up death forever. ... Isaiah 25:6-9 (GW)

3 and their people will say, “Let us go up the hill of the Lord, to the Temple of Israel's God.
He will teach us what he wants us to do; we will walk in the paths he has chosen.
For the Lord's teaching comes from Jerusalem; from Zion he speaks to his people.” Isaiah 2:3 (GNT)

16 Then all of the survivors from the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go there each year to worship the Lord Almighty as king and to celebrate the Festival of Shelters. Zechariah 14:16 (GNT)

7 “I will bring you to Zion, my sacred hill, give you joy in my house of prayer, and accept the sacrifices you offer on my altar. My Temple will be called a house of prayer for the people of all nations.” Isaiah 56:7c (GNT)

After all the king of Jerusalem and his nation will need their Palace and Temple until the dawn of the time of the ultimate Jerusalem.
