Aliyah an overview: the Jewish Kingdom of Israel Part IV of IV - The Promised Land

Divine attention

God gave information concerning the Promised Land – Genesis 15:18-21 – itself. Despite of the desert it was a fertile land, Numbers 23:21-27. A land that God himself would take care of by giving the necessary rain - Deuteronomy 11 – because it wouldn't be a land like Egypt, depending on irrigation.

Deuteronomy 11:10-15,
10 The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. 11 But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. 12 It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.13 So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul— 14 then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and olive oil. 15 I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.

Later God himself made Judah a desert – Jeremiah 9:10-15 – but he promised also promised he would revitalize the whole Land of Israel, Isaiah 41:18-20,

18 I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys.I will turn the desert into pools of water,
and the parched ground into springs.19 I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set junipers in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together, 20 so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.

Isaiah 43:18-21,
19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. 20 The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, 21 the people I formed for myself
that they may proclaim my praise.

The boarders of the Promised Land, Genesis 15:18,
18 On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi[e] of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates
