Christian celebration: compasionate or occult?

On the 19th of November 2011 Darlene Zschech with Hillsong Australia gave a concert with a compelling massage in Apeldoorn the Netherlands. But were those present only engaging in worshipping the Almighty God?

The evening in a nutshell. It started with ...

... the Dutch band Schrijvers voor Gerechtigheid (Writers for Righteousness). After which Darlene Zschech performed followed by her speech on Compassion. She also led the people in prayer. In between all these, biblical passages were red by Darlene and the man in charge of the presentation that evening, and there was in my opinion a dreadful sponsor talk.

The Dutch band had really nice new songs, but for whatever reason they couldn't deliver the lyrics on the screens for the audience. The lead singer, wearing a funeral black neck-tie on his brown long sleeved shirt, apologized for this after the first song. But unfortunately for us, he failed to lead the audience in singing the songs' chorus. Maybe next time his skill to do this is improved.
Darlene's performance was uplifting and gave plenty of opportunity to engage in prayer. Hearing the two men, members of her team singing solo was also a nice addition to the performance. I believe one of them is her husband. Quote of the evening, Darlene's words: “We don't sing for you. You have come here to worship God together.” I couldn't agree more. Her being an ambassador of Compassion - an organization that helps children in poor circumstances - she also brought as was planned the work of this organization under the attention of the audience. On the difficulties and suffering of the children Darlene stated: “that is not OK”. In deed, it isn't.

It took me some patience to listen to the minutes long pep talk of one of the sponsors. I understand sponsors have something to say, but really can't they get their massage across at a more appropriate time, outside the moment of worship and prayer? There are other and just as effective methods of communication. I, we came for worship, for a celebration. In this case also to hear about Compassion.
The evening ended with singing after Darlene led those who wanted into prayer ♫ to the cross (not performed that evening), to make a choice for Jesus Christ. And she advised them to ask their friends whom they were with for a bible, and to seek a church to go to. As she said, “you will find family there”.
By the time she started singing again I decided to leave because I was running late. In the thick evening mist I still could find my way to cycle home.

I do have a comment on the dress code of the artists: b l a c k
Not to judge but nearly all the artists including those of Darlene's team and herself wear black.
Now, the colour black absorbs sun rays and retains the heat, so it isn't advisable to were it on a hot day or while performing under those intense show lights on stage. A person would normally be sweating even more. And if this isn't the case, how come?
So, why would people wear black anyway? Some people who engage into occult practises like the casting of spells, wear back. It's also a way of getting their massage, what ever that may be, across to others. I believe some Christians even confuse the practise of casting spells with praying.
Maybe these artists were wearing this colour like other Christian artists do, including Starfield, just because they like it or it's what fashion dictates, while being unaware of the former said. In that case, would they even want to give the impression of being part of the occult scene? They are after all role models to many in Christian society!

Why do I make a point of mentioning this? Because I did notice the presence, of people engaging in occultism that evening. And that, was not OK! As far as I'm concern, it's a no thanks on practising occultism in which ever form it presents itself. I sincerely forgive all those people, including those with them but whom were not present at this celebration, who have been busy casting their spells and curses that evening, whether they were off or on stage, behind or in front of me, while engaging in conversation or not. I believe they don't really realize what they were doing. May the Almighty God and Father forgive them and bless them.

Christians including artists active with that stuff, people it's a sin and the Almighty Father can't bless darkness. Why couldn't he? Because, God is ♫ HOLY!!!
… For I am God, and not a man — the Holy One among you. … Hosea 11:9 (NIV)
15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15 (NIV)

To those who still want to believe that the Christians faith goes together with practising the occult, this is what God's word has to say to warn them,
1 If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,2 and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,”
3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Deuteronomy 13:1-3 (NIV)

The actions of the apostles Peter, Acts 8:4-25, and Paul, Acts 13:4-12, coincide with Deuteronomy 18:10-13 (NIV),
10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts  s p e l l s, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD; ... 13 You must be b l a m e l e s s before the LORD your God.

If not, the consequences?
Revelation 2:20-23
(NIV) tells us that the Almighty Father is the one,
… 23 who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.
Which deeds, and how will he repay to some?
20 You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. 21 I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. 22 So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. 23 I will strike her children dead. ...

Bare in mind that Jazebel was an actual person and at the same time she is a prototype of an occultist in biblical scripture. Now way would anyone in a Christian congregation listen to such a person? Is it because by the time she is revealed as such, she already has a position as leader and/or advisor in the congregation? And, why such sever consequences for the actions, deeds of these people? Because the consequences are related to their own deeds! How so? For one, these people already part of or going to churches, congregations and synagogues - also to Christian concerts and festivals - just to sit during the service to cast evil occult spells, curses because of their own illnesses and whatever else they have difficulties with, over those who are present. Causing illnesses to and hurting those whom are truly faithful to the Almighty Father, while sadly the regular members are unaware of these and their leaders aren't spiritually awake enough to notice nor to address this problem in a proper way: forgiveness is the way to go! Meanwhile the leaders of the congregation and the members believe that their group is growing because so many people are coming, but in fact they are dealing with people with feigned faith.
Isn't this the ultimate way of showing contempt to the Almighty Father? Same behavior the antichrist will have in the future by going to the Temple in Jerusalem.

So, practicing occultism is a sin, and no matter how that stuff makes you f e e l, it's absolutely no excuse! But, why doesn't people want to repent, change their ways? Is it because they traded and want to continue trading deed by deed the little bit of goodness that is still in them for wickedness in order to gain that which is destructive - but which they consider to be of value - to them anyway?
There where there is egotistic greed and contempt, there is great blindness and evil!

17 You call him Father, when you pray to God, who judges all people by the same standard, according to what each one has done; 1 Peter 1:17a (GNT)

Was the celebration occult or compassionate?
For those present engaging in their own occult dark practices, whether by their own or with a group, they were actually as a group with the same purpose having an occult meeting, all be it masked within the gathering of that evening.
Compassionate, yes! For, never the less there was worship to the Almighty God and Father, the message of Compassion's work, and of course leading people on in prayer to Yeshua Messiah / Jesus Christ our Saviour and Redeemer. I thank the Almighty Father for the blessings he gave and that I received that evening, despite evil's resistance. I hope all those faithful to God, including Darlene, her team and all the other artists present received his blessing.

If the Almighty Father wants to bless, who can stop him?!
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Matthew 5:8 (NIV)

God bless you,
