Jeremiah 31, the new covenant: God's Law on believers heart! - Jesus and the Law

Jesus/Yeshua and God's Law

Jesus / Yeshua did have many teachings concerning God's Law. One of which being,
… 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Matthew 5:17-19 (NIV)

What is accomplished? For one, that the Law is written on the believers heart! Further more, until a pit is dug for the wicked. For God will teach his Law while granting relief in the days of trouble to those he blesses by teaching them his Law, Psalm 94:12-13.

19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Now, would you want to be called least or great in God's Kingdom?

Even more, what did Jesus / Yeshua himself do with God's Law? He lived by it to perfection. If he was superior to everyone else, why would he need to do that? That's just it, he wasn't a superior being, but a person. As he said himself “ … there is only One who is good.” and he did refer to God the Father as being more than he is.

Jesus / Yeshua just like all of us needed God's Law, Hebrew 5:7-8. He came to fulfill it. That is to learn it, to live by it and to teach it. This included keeping Gods feasts. All this in order for him to be without sin for the purpose the Almighty Father had with him. He also warned not to let God's Law be overshadowed by the practice of certain traditions, Matthews 15:1-9 (NIV),
... 3 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’[a] and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’[b] 5 But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’ 6 they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. ...

What did he had to say on the subject of doing good deeds? Matthew 7:15-27 (NIV) says,
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

By the way, there is an important and crucial distinction between God the Father and Creator, and Yeshua / Jesus whom is the son:
- God the Father whom is in heaven, Psalm 115:3 (NIV),Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.
- the God whom is no man, Hosea 11:9 -(NIV), ... For I am God, and not a man—the Holy One among you. ...
- but is spirit, as Yeshua / Jesus himself said in John 4:24 (NIV), God is spirit ...
- Yeshua's / Jesus's followers called and considered him to be their rabbi, in John 1:49 (NIV), Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.”
- And to them he was the son of God not God himself John states in 2 John 3 (NIV), Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love.

Yeahua / Jesus gave a warning to those who have forgotten that having their name written in heaven - Luke 10:17-20 - and prayer together with preaching/teaching God's word - Acts 6:1-4 - is even more important than giving prophecies, performing miracles, as well as driving out demons.
22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Matthew 7:15-27 (NIV)

Basically it all comes to obeying God in whatever the believers are busy doing in and/or with their life,
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Matthew 7:15-27 (NIV)

Blessings God gives to those whom keep his commands, Deuteronomy 30:9-10 (NIV),
9 Then the Lord your God will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your land. The Lord will again delight in you and make you prosperous, just as he delighted in your ancestors, 10 if you obey the Lord your God and keep his commands and decrees that are written in this Book of the Law and turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
