Revelation 12: a woman for real? Part 1 of 3

19 Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm. 1 A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman ...
Revelation 11:19-12:1 (NIV-UK)

There are many interpretations of the sign of the woman described in the book of Revelations 12 verse 1 to 17. When I put all these aside for a moment, I wonder. What if this woman is a woman? I mean, a woman for real. In that case, who is she?

It doesn't say anywhere in the book of Revelations that she herself is a symbol of anything or anyone. While the woman mentioned in Revelation 17, the passage is very specific about her being a symbol. She is not the bride of the Lamb either. For Revelation 21 verse 9 and 10 (NIV) clearly states that Jerusalem is the bride,

9 ... “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming  d o w n  out of heaven from God.

So says Isaiah 62 (GNT),

,,, 1 Jerusalem ...
4 ... Your new name will be  God Is Pleased with Her. Your land will be called Happily Married
Because the Lord is pleased with you And will be like a husband to your  l a n d.

5 Like a young man taking a virgin as his bride, He who formed you will  m a r r y  you.
As a groom is delighted with his bride, So your God will delight in you. ...

And Isaiah 54 (GNT),
1 Jerusalem, ... 5 Your Creator will be like a husband to you— the Lord Almighty is his name.
The holy God of Israel will save you— he is the ruler of all the world. ...

Jerusalem, whom is also the mother as mentioned in Galatians 4:26 (NIV),

26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

This passage does say that a sign appeared, a sign of what? Of the time during which she will be revealed by God Almighty himself. The time that several biblical prophecies about the land of Israel will come to pas. The end times.

Let's suppose she is the revelation of a person. Could she be someone from the past, before the apostle John received this revelation? I don't think so. Prophecy points to the future, not to the past. By the way if she was to be a symbol to Mary Joseph's wife and the mother of Yeshua / Jesus, wouldn't John have said so for him being a disciple of him knew his mother? So I believe this woman is a person who has to be revealed by God in the future since he revealed her to John. So who is she?
