Déjà vu: two-state solution, no Israeli-Arab peace! - Two States

The two-state solution
To this day this two-state solution agreement hasn't resulted in a peace of any sort. On the contrary the Gaza strip is governed by a terrorist organization which doesn't hesitate to kill their own people, while parts of Judah and Samaria, often referred to as the Palestinian territory, is under the leadership of the financially broke government of Mahmoud Abbas. Both in contrast to the rest of Israel which is under the control of the Israeli government. Since Israel's War of Independence in 1948, Israel has come a long way by which it has restored Jerusalem as its capital city since 1967.

Where does this idea of a two-state solution within Israel come from? Well it's nothing new. It was already proposed in 1947, only to be rejected by the Arab League while the Jewish leaders whom later would declare the State of Israel in 1948, accepted it. They were happy to have at least part of the land instead of nothing at all. The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution for the plan to partition the remaining land of the territory called Palestine - two thirds of this land was already assigned to the Arabs and became Transjordan, present day Jordan - into a Jewish State, an Arab State and the city of Jerusalem which would be under an international governing body. This is similar to what later would happen to Germany – division into West Germany, East Germany and Berlin - after WW II.

Is there any reason to believe that this two-state solution plan would ever achieve what its meant for? No. Walking on the same road to nowhere over and over again doesn't make you reach your destination!
