Israel got stuck? - Israel's identity

Israel's identity

But not all Jews are Zionists, and Aliyah to the Land of Israel wasn't a Zionist invention. Aliyah - the  immigration of Jews and their descendants to the Jewish Home Land, the Land of Israel - is a process that started ages ago in ancient times, even before the destruction of the second temple. And the thought of the establishment of Israel, the Kingdom of Israel, was also written down in prophecies ages ago at the time of God's prophets in biblical scripture. So it was and still is the God's idea and plan, and he is the driving inspiration and force behind this process that has been and will be on going for years to come.

Initially the Orthodox Jews, with their own diversity within their communities, also supported this movement, but later these two to a certain extent part ways. To this day the State of Israel is still seen as a Zionist state by many within the Jewish community as a whole. Something many still doesn't approve of, to the degree that their views - interview with Jewish community in Iran - this year after the election of a new Iranian leader - is being used in the media it seems against Israel. Even though the State of Israel in itself, its political system and government matured and doesn't depend solely on the Zionist movement itself as it did in the past. The Zionist Movement, which is still present, just isn't the governing body of the State of Israel it only supports it. Many others, including several Christian organizations, give their support too. Could it be their view didn't change also due to the fact that the symbol of the Zionist Movement is still present on Israel's flag?

More important is the fact that the Jewish State of Israel wasn't established in 1948 just due to the Zionist Movement's endeavor, but Israelis owes this to the centuries old process of Aliyah of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel starting hundreds of years ago with the first Aliyah, that of the Patriarch Abraham and his wife Sara. The symbol of the star used on the Israeli flag doesn't reflect this.

All Jews do agree on their history and heritage. Their identity is unmistakably connected to the Land of Israel - Genesis 12:1-9, 14:18-20 and 50:24 - and to the name of their nation which is Israel. The God whom later  presented himself to Moses as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - Exodus 3:6 - gave this name to Jacob - Genesis 32:28,35:9-15 - whom fathered his twelve sons out of whom the Israelite tribes, their people and all their kings came fort. Why if a symbol is needed, isn't this name, Israel or Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel written in Hebrew letters, their language, on the flag that represents their Jewish nation and people?

Why keep comparing Israel with a star? A star dies!!! You don't need to be an astronomer to know that. Why would any one want to be or be compared to a death star? Even the sun will die some day, when its no longer needed, Isaiah 60:10-20 and Revelation 21:22-27. While the children of Israel, Eretz Yisrael, the Promised Land have been there to stay by God Almighty's grace.

Wouldn't this also be an uncomplicated way of asserting Israel as a Jewish nation?  Instead a symbol that originally was not a symbol of King David at all, but a pagan symbol. So, a symbol that doesn't represent the complete Jewish community, has been on this flag for 65 years. Not to mention on and in so many synagogues, paradoxically - because of ignorance concerning its real obscure origin besides its use by the Zionist Movement? - including those who don't agree with the idea of a Zionist state. Can't the leaders of the State of Israel do something about this? They don't need allied countries to unite their own people. As for the faithful, shouldn't their prayers go together with deeds also in this case?

The reason which symbol is on the State of Israel's flag is also of importance in relation to God himself. The same God of their forefathers said he doesn't share with idols, so neither with their symbols,
... 8 “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols. ... Isaiah 42:8-9 (NIV)

Would it really be a problem if Israel is isolated? If this is what fighting for survival would require for Israel, they would have no choice. But, standing alone and in unity gives strength. Although the people of Israel doesn't have to remain stuck nor do they have to stand completely alone. They can count on the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob can't they? Question is, which god or idol do they want to stand with.

God the Almighty Father and Creator is the one that will make new things for Israel and its people,
... 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. 20 ... I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, 21 the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise. Isaiah 43:16-21 (NIV)
