King David's Palace, Jerusalem's Palace?!

The prophet Jeremiah tells us that Jerusalem's Palace will be restored during the time that God Almighty himself will restore his people to his land, Israel.

18 The Lord says,
“I will restore my people to their land and have mercy on every family;
Jerusalem will be rebuilt, and its palace restored. Jeremiah 30:18

But, which palace is Jerusalem's? And what's the point in rebuilding it, to which end?

This passage in the book of Jeremiah clearly speaks of Jerusalem's palace and not of the Temple. The prophet Ezekiel gave prophecies concerning the restoration of Israel, its capital city Jerusalem and Israel's Kingship when he brings his people back to his land.

... 21 Then tell them that I, the Sovereign Lord, am going to take all my people out of the nations where they have gone, gather them together, and bring them back to their own land. 22 I will unite them into one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. They will have one king to rule over them, and they will no longer be divided into two nations or split into two kingdoms. ... Ezekiel 37:15-16 (GNT)

Why rebuilt a palace in Jerusalem and not in another city of Israel?
But now I have chosen J e r u s a l e m for my Name to be there, and I have chosen D a v i d to rule my people Israel.’ 2 Chronicles 6:6 (NIV)

... for the Lord Almighty will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before its elders—with great glory. Isaiah 24:23 (NIV)

Question is, which palace in Jerusalem is the Jerusalem Palace that will be rebuilt? There were several palace's built in Jerusalem in the past that were not to God's liking - Hosea 8:14 - because at that time his people were not as faithful to him as he desired them to be. Even now in modern Israel there are new palaces built for different purposes in Jerusalem, but still these could not be considered to be the Jerusalem Palace for the same reason they were not in the past. They simply are not in honor of God nor the king he would put in place.

Would not restoring the real Jerusalem Palace now assert, beside other matters, the Israelites own faithfulness to the Almighty Father?!
