Visions and dreams: how reliable? - Warning!

God's word is plentiful!

If God's word, biblical scripture is available do checks on visions and dreams, why do things concerning these go wrong any way? For one, even though there is plenty of God's word and so many different languages, some people sadly don't take time to acquire the knowledge of it. Second, nowadays people more and more tent to live by and let themselves be guided by their own personal feelings, while shutting God's word out. Some others use up their time by loosing themselves in the day to day worries for their personal life, while others get eluded by the deception of wealth, Matthew 13:19 and 18-23 (NIV),

22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.

Another reason might be that some people go and feel special about themselves because of 'their' visions and dreams. Only God Almighty is good and really special. And if he revealed anything to you, surely you realize it's not about putting you on a pedestal, but about his will for his people and humanity. There should be no space for selfishness, self indulgence, egotism nor greed. But plenty of room for responsibility and integrity. If you truly love the truth, you would want to and be able to handle the truth. And, if a person never had any visions or dreams from the Father concerning his own personal life and suddenly he has one concerning other peoples lives, shouldn't that person question the vision and dream even more?

We should also realize that evil also has visions and dreams full of lies to pass on to people to deceive and misguide them. Evil disguising himself as an angel of light telling half truths by telling something someone would recognize and / or wants to hear, in order to afterwards fill him up with lies. For what purpose? To confuse and mislead people, keeping believers busy with all sorts, instead of them being busy with what matters - God's plans and within these his will for our personal life - to God the Father. To those who mislead people Isaiah 5:20 (NKJV) says the following,

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Biblical scripture also warns for false prophets as Jeremiah did, Jeremiah 14:14-15. 23:13-40 (NIV),

... 32 Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” declares the LORD. “They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least,” declares the LORD. ...

In Jeremiah's days there was a contrast - Jeremiah 29, especially verses 4 to 14, telling the Israelites God said they should live in the countries he banished them to while seeking their prosperity and that after seventy years God will bring them back to Israel. While the false prophets were saying that everything will be fine within 2 years, Jeremiah 28:1-4. - with what Jeremiah was prophesying and what the false prophets were saying, which resulted into clashes between them.
Nearly seventy years later Daniel who lived in Babylon prayed to God about these seventy years - also mentioned in Zechariah 1:12 - when they have past, Daniel 9, verse 2 mentions Jeremiah and the prophecy God gave him. By the way after those seventy years, groups of Israelites in exile did return to Israel, books of Ezra and Nehemiah. By the way we should realize that new prophecies given by the Almighty Father are in keep with those already spoken by him and written down in biblical scripture.
One of the clashes Jeremiah had with one of the false prophets was with a man named Hananiah as written in Jeremiah 28,

... 7 Nevertheless, listen to what I have to say in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people: 8 From early times the prophets who preceded you and me have prophesied war, disaster and plague against many countries and great kingdoms. 9 But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the LORD only if his prediction comes true.” ...

... 15 Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, “Listen, Hananiah! The LORD has not sent you, yet you have persuaded this nation to trust in lies. 16 Therefore this is what the LORD says: 'I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. This very year you are going to die, because you have preached rebellion against the LORD.'"
17 In the seventh month of that same year, Hananiah the prophet died.

So, we should realize that no one can hide from the Almighty Father, Jeremiah 23:24-25, and that he establishes his own spokesmen and spokeswomen, that is his prophets as 1 Samuel 3:19-21 (NIV) also makes clear,

19 The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of Samuel's words fall to the ground. 20 And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba recognized that Samuel was attested as a prophet of the LORD. 21 The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word.

Father does warn us for evil and also for its occult crafts and influence through his word, while at the same time makes clear what he expects from those who are truly faithful to him.

19 When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? 20 Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. Isaiah 8:19-20 (NIV)

1 If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,2 and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,”
3 you must n o t listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Deuteronomy 13:1-3 (NIV)

Warning, that God gives to those whom put their trust in occult evil to gain safety, Isaiah 28:14-18 (NIV),

... 15 You boast, “We have entered into a covenant with death, with the realm of the dead we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood[a] our hiding place. ” 16 So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: ...
18 Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the realm of the dead will not stand.
When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by, you will be beaten down by it. [a: or false gods]

Which God is this?
The one that is HOLY and holds our breath, our life in his hand and owns all our ways, Daniel 5:23, Hosea 11:9!
